Sponsor a Team
“In a global economy where the most valuable skill you can sell is your knowledge, a good education is no longer just a pathway to opportunity, it is a pre-requisite” - President Barack Obama
Support a Team in the Spirit of Innovation Awards Program
In 1969, my late husband walked on the Moon, the third man in history ever to do so.
Pete Conrad lived and worked at the Ocean of Storms for 31 hours. To put him there took invention, innovation and imagination from a generation that didn't know the word impossible. Nearly 40 years later a new crop of innovators is needed to help solve the world's most pressing problems in all areas of science and technology.
I believe the answer will be found by exposing today’s high school students to the world’s top scientists and entrepreneurs – and giving these students their own chance to design their future, like Pete had with his moon shot. We call them today’s Innovation Generation. Uninhibited by preconceived notions, these students will discover the amazing applications that will change the course of the 21st century.
The Pete Conrad Spirit of Innovation Awards program is an opportunity for teams of high school students to create products using science and technology. It is free to all who participate. Our pathway from the classroom to the commercial marketplace is specifically designed to engage and inspire high school students and their teachers to think creatively and innovative.
Please join us by sponsoring a team in the 2009-2010 Pete Conrad Spirit of Innovation Awards. A $3000 sponsorship provides the resources for a team of America’s most creative students to progress through this product design pathway. Your sponsorship not only provides financial resources, but also opens opportunities for your company and its employees to participate in the program as mentors and other knowledge experts. It puts your company at the forefront of the Innovation Generation. With this newly educated and engaged student group, we will see a dynamic young population ready to solve today’s global challenges. We are currently seeking Team Sponsor participants for the Spirit of Innovation Platforms in Aerospace and Renewable Energy.
We are not only creating a program, we’re driving a movement. Please join us by contributing $3,000 to support a team in designing their future.
