Approved Development Plan

Overview of Plan:
The goal of our Phase A project is attend a variety of technology fairs to create a network of support from professionals in medical research and technology.

Development Plan Details:

In order to create a strong network with the medical and technology industry that would most likely invest in the RL2 satellite, our team, Seattle Instruments, will focus on attending a series of technology expositions. With the money our team is able to raise through the Pete Conrad Foundation, we will create a professional display and travel to these important symposiums to obtain the support and criticism that is important for launching our RL2 into the next phase of development. The first step in our plan is to use the time post-summit in April up to May 15th to create our professional display for the Intel ISE Fair. In this time we will also adapt our Innovation Summit presentation to fit within the 30 to 60 seconds that we will most likely have to convince viewers that our plan is viable and profitable. We will also modify our documents and submitting a Contribution Paper to them for the 2009 AAPS Annual Meeting and Exposition. We plan to attend these two fairs, and will try to further our outreach through later symposiums such as the WTC and AIAA Space Conference later in the year.

 

Itemized Budget:

• $200 for the presentation.
• $2600 for travel and exhibit space at the Intel International Sciene and Engineering Fair.
• $2300 for travel to New York, for the World Technology Conference.
• $2000 for travel to Pasadena, for the AIAA Space Conference.

Timeline of Activities:

• Timeline for 2009 February -Refine the development and ideas necessary to accomplish our goals.
• March – Create an effective presentation.
• April – Refine our presentation and further refine our ideas. Ask mentors to find holes that need to be filled. Prepare for the Pete Conrad Spirit of Innovation conference. Then after the conference prepare for the AAPS "Call for Contribution Papers" and the Intel ISE Fair. Register for the World Technology Conference in New York.
• May - Submit a Contribution Paper on May 13th for the AAPS Annual Meeting and Exposition set for later in the year. Attend the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair on May 10-15. 
• July - Refine any flaws in the exhibit found at the Seattle conference. Participate in the World Technology Conference in New York.
• September – On the 17th participate in the AIAA Space Conference in Pasadena, California.

Deliverables:
We hope to develop a mutual business network between multiple corporations that would have interest in our product. These corporations should consist mainly of medical companies and some robotics companies. There would also be a need to develop a bond with a telecommunications company to be able to transmit data. These companies should all develop an interest and possibly make our dream come to life.
