Live Video Chat with Major General Charles Bolden
Team Conrad is both fortunate and proud to announce that Major General Charles Frank "Charlie" Bolden, Jr. will host our next Live Video Chat Series on January 6, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. PST.
Major General Charles Frank "Charlie" Bolden, Jr., USMC (retired), is a retired U.S. Marine Corps officer who served from 1981 to 1994 as an astronaut in the United States' space program.
A veteran of four space flights, he has logged over 680 hours in space on the Columbia, Discovery, and Atlantis Space Shuttle missions.
His technical assignments included: Astronaut Office Safety Officer; Technical Assistant to the Director of Flight Crew Operations; Special Assistant to the Director of the Johnson Space Center; Astronaut Office Liaison to the Safety, Reliability and Quality Assurance Directorates of the Marshall Space Flight Center and the Kennedy Space Center; Chief of the Safety Division at JSC; Lead Astronaut for Vehicle Test and Checkout at the Kennedy Space Center; and Assistant Deputy Administrator, NASA Headquarters.
Bolden was the first person to ride the Launch Complex 39 slidewire baskets which enable rapid escape from a shuttle on the launch pad. The need for a human test was determined following a launch abort on Space Shuttle Discovery's first mission, where controllers were afraid to order the crew to use the untested escape system.
Bolden is the virtual host of the Shuttle Launch Experience attraction at Kennedy Space Center.

On each website, there is a section called "Development Plan", however, there are no links to allow you to post in that section. Also, what information would be written in this section-- would it be on how one actually creates the concept product, or how one gets this product out on the market? |

In the rules it says to reference any diagrams or figures and then include the diagrams or figures in the appendix. However, the appendix is only allowed to be 2 pages long (including bibliography). we have several diagrams which will not all fit in the appendix. Can we instead include them in the main paper? |

My team's entry could fit into more than one of the challenge areas and we were wondering what effect the category that we pick will ultimately have on how our entry is processed and judged. |

Whenever I try to update the information on the team information section of the profile, it says that the profile was updated, but then all the fields for advisor, team leader, category, and team members are blank. I also tried to accept the terms of the competition, but after I did it still gave me the red x sign. Why is the system not remembering any information I input? |
