Bacterial Production of Hydrogen.

Our product consists of a novel bioreactor system which would include our own genetically modified hydrogen producing bacteria,a hydrogen fuel cell system for the generation of electricity, and batteries to store the electricity

Team Concept

We hope to provide solutions to the two common problems associated with hydrogen production: production efficiency, and storage. Our project aims to produce hydrogen economically through the genetic modification of photosynthetic bacteria for higher, purer hydrogen yields as well as the design of a novel bioreactor for on-site combustion of hydrogen, thereby eliminating the need for storage. The bioreactor would use the hydrogen right after production to power a fuel cell and generate electricity. This bioreactor would essentially function as a generator, and supply all of a households electrical needs through the combustion of hydrogen.

Development Plan

Donate to Support BioH

Overview of Plan:
We plan to first develop our genetically enhanced hydrogen producing bacteria(R. gelatinosus), which will involve modifying 3 components of the bacteria. These modifications will allow the bacteria to be more self

Total Cost of the Plan:
3000

I am sure that Myrna Halpin's team is well prepared for this foray into space. She was twice in the top 1% of astronaut candidates. God Speed
